While taxing sodas may sound like a good idea, it's not the consumers that should be paying taxes for such inferior products.
The subsidies given to the growers of the poor quality corn should be slowly eliminated. This will naturally raise the price of sodas, etc.
We pay taxes to make high fructose corn syrup cheap. Now they want consumers to pay more taxes to make it expensive.
The soda tax is government's frivolous attempt to curb obesity and keep corporate America happy. What a mess!!! Watch the documentary "King Corn".
